MLB Playoffs


             The week of the LCS series is always amazing. Fall breezy weather, Halloween around the corner, and of course, MLB baseball. This years' NLCS features the #4 seeded Philadelphia Phillies (2nd NL-E), and the #6 seeded Arizona Diamondbacks (2nd NL-W). I was actually lucky enough to have predicted the entire MLB playoffs to this point, and I have the Diamondbacks taking on the Astros in my World Series. Unfortunately, the D-Backs trail 2-0 in the series to the Phils' as they look unbeatable at the moment and are on a mission, going out and getting Trea Turner this offseason. If any year is theirs, this is the one. 
         
              This years' ALCS features the #2 seeded Houston Astros (1st AL-W), and the #5 seeded Texas Rangers (2nd AL-W). Again, unfortunately the Astros trail 2-1 in this series, and although I want the Rangers to win in my heart, I need the Astros for the sake of my bracket. The rest of the postseason will be very interesting and I cannot wait to see how it all unfolds. I have a feeling the Texas Rangers are on a run and are not letting anybody get in their way. But at the same time the Astros experience and long-tentured dominance cannot go over peoples' heads. It is going to be an amazing series and an amazing finish to the MLB season. 

            My predictions are as follows. If it is (6) AZ vs (2) HOU, I have to take the Astros in 5 games. The experience of the Astros will outshine Arizona, and I think the D-Backs will be extremely gassed by this time. The team is already exceeding expectations, and I don't think it is realistic to see them go all the way just yet. If it is (4) PHI vs (2) HOU, I will have to take the Phillies in a rematch. I don't think any team is stopping the Phillies if they happen to get this far, therefore, if it is (4) PHI vs (5) TEX, I have to take the Phillies as well. However, if it is (6) AZ vs (5) TEX, I would take the Rangers there, I think again, it's the experience of the D-Backs in the moment. I think they're 1 more good year away, but it was good that they got the experience now, because every team goes through it. But I would take Texas in 5 games over Arizona.

FEELS about my Rational Argument

 There are countless amounts of problems in today's world that I would be more than happy to debate with someone. However, in the case of the Rational Argument, I could only come down to one choice, and I ultimately chose to argue about the risks of screen time usage. I specifically chose to debate about the screen time usage in the younger generation, and how it correlates to higher cognitive problems in the future, as well as obesity problems, and mental health issues as well. In the post-COVID era, almost everything has transitioned online, whether it's ordering food, shopping, or just chatting. My expectations for CARD*101*8

                I am extremely thrilled to be a part of this particular CARD class! There are so many nice people and I can't wait to learn so many exciting things with this group. I absolutely love writing about sports and the modern world, so I am excited to see how this class can help shape me into a better writer grammatically, as well as through critical thinking, and knowledge-making.               My expectations for this class include becoming a better and more interesting writer by fixing up grammatical mistakes, and by also using more interesting words. I hope to obviously pass this class having learned so much, and I will plan to do this by studying to the best of my abilities, taking a ton of notes, as well as reviewing those notes, and also by being very attentive in classes.
