Chicago Blackhawks home opener

Image
On October 21st, 2023, Connor Bedard will take the ice at 7:00pm, in which he will attempt to help guide his Blackhawks to a home-opening win over the defending Stanley Cup winning Golden Knights. The Knights (5-0-0) have shown no signs of slowing down since their cup victory over the Florida Panthers this past June. The Hawks look to shut the door on the Knights after finally completing their 5 game road-stand to start the season.                 Chicago opened with Pittsburgh on the road, and proceeded to play Boston, Montreal, Toronto, and Colorado. 4 of those 5 are cup contenders, while 1 is a playoff contender. Just a brutal start. Luckily, Chicago came out of that mess 2-3-0, with wins @Pittsburgh 4-2, and @Toronto 4-1. Arvid Soderblom and Petr Mrazek have split starts thus far, however Soderblom will get the start on the blue ice tonight at home. My final score pre...

MLB Playoffs

Image
The week of the LCS series is always amazing. Fall breezy weather, Halloween around the corner, and of course, MLB baseball. This years' NLCS features the #4 seeded Philadelphia Phillies (2nd NL-E), and the #6 seeded Arizona Diamondbacks (2nd NL-W). I was actually lucky enough to have predicted the entire MLB playoffs to this point, and I have the Diamondbacks taking on the Astros in my World Series. Unfortunately, the D-Backs trail 2-0 in the series to the Phils' as they look unbeatable at the moment and are on a mission, going out and getting Trea Turner this offseason. If any year is theirs, this is the one.                               This years' ALCS features the #2 seeded Houston Astros (1st AL-W), and the #5 seeded Texas Rangers (2nd AL-W). Again, unfortunately the Astros trail 2-1 in this series, and although I want the Ran...

Da Bears

Image
0-4. 14 straight losses. Tied-worst record in the league with the Carolina Panthers. The Chicago Bears have  a lot decisions to make coming up, do you tank? Trade players at the deadline and start from scratch? Where do you go? Well, with a Thursday night match-up in the brewing with the 2-2 Washington Commanders, the Bears are obviously underdogs (+7.0), but that doesn't feel right. Moreover, after an astonishing performance from Justin Fields Sunday vs the Broncos, the Bears look like they have hope. 28 points in a loss isn't the worst thing ever, sure it is heartbreaking, but there were positives shown. So being 7 point underdogs the week later feels like too much, especially vs Washington. Sure, the Bears only scored 7 points last year the Commanders in their 12-7 loss at home, but if the Bears play like they did Sunday, and keep that momentum going forward, this could be a whole new Bears. When the Bears were scoring ...
