Challenges and experiences throughout College

The transition from high school to college seems super scary, especially considering the fact that I went to a high school of 213 students. I chose North Central for a reason, it was close, small, and very good academically and athletically. I wanted to make the transition as minimal as possible and I think it worked. Now although class sizes may be slightly bigger than high school, it is nowhere near how I envisioned college being like, these class sizes are rather small compared to what I expected.

The classwork can be a lot, but as long as you stay on top of it and don't procrastinate, college can be rather fun and easier than I thought. So far, it has been difficult, but I think college is going okay, and I am sure when track season comes around, time is going to absolutely fly. Time flew by so fast throughout High School because I did 3 sports for all 4 years of my High School tenture, and whenever I was in a season, it went fast because you were always looking forward to when that next game was going to be, and you would be focused. This caused time to go quick as you were focused one game at a time.

I think the most difficult thing for me is going to be balancing both track and school. As a student-athlete, there is a lot of academic and athletic pressure on me. This leads to procrastination and overthinking as well, as you want to do good in both. You have to find that balance, and I think that is going to be tough for me to do to begin my collegiate career. However, the more time I am in college, the more experience and time management skills I will gain.
